VRMS Mouse Ring

Description

The VRMS mouse ring is a novel computer input device for which we own a US provisional patent. Wearing a ring-like wireless device, users can perform mouse operations such as left and right clicks, cursor forward, backward, left and right movements, as well as the scroll bar forward and backward operations. The prototypes may replace the traditional mouse. This device has the advantage that it can be worn at all times and be used to control a number of different devices such as a computer, mobile phone or PDA.

Description

Using Sengital's VRMS module, a multi-functional controller can be developed. The same module can be applied to control of PDA, Mobile phone gaming by usage of a GUI. The idea of this multi-functional game controller is to make use of motion sensing module with microcontroller as a centre control unit which is allowed to be plug into different plastic housings for different applications such as Joystick, Gun, Joy-pad, Racing Wheel, and others yet to be developed.

Embedded-VRMS (E-VRMS) for Mobile Device

Description

The functionality of mobile phones and PDA's is ever increasing while their size is ever decreasing. These trends will limit the usability of the devices if traditional user interfaces such as buttons and jog dials will not be replaced by next generation "natural" user interfaces such as speech and motion. Sengital's E-VRMS can be either plugged-in or embedded into mobile devices such as mobile phones and PDAs, by replacing their existing housing structure. Our solution includes the motion or orientation sensing to command conversion algorithms that can convert the motions of user to control/input commands. The user can scroll text by tilting the device and select items by tapping.

Description

This is a monitoring system for Sports and Exercise monitoring, Human Rehabilitation (gait measurement), and Ergonomics. Sengital's target is to develop a wireless miniature inertial sensor-based system, to monitor the gait pattern of the patient or athlete and improve their performance.
